Danielle Hardy (2000, Kansas City, MO) is a narrative photographer and creative producer based in Boston, originally from Kansas City, MO.

Her work is rooted in deciphering the nuances of Blackness and culture, often through the lens of human connection and how race, class, and gender shape our relationships with ourselves and each other. She loves crafting compositions that reveal the versatility of emotion through visual storytelling. Her practice is tactile and process-oriented; she treats images as living objects in a state of continuous transformation, rather than static outcomes.

After 20 years of classical training, her images often feature conceptualized movement and abstract posing, stemming from my dance background. She is fascinated by the truths our bodies hold when our voices are silent.

She is currently exploring how textiles, film, photography, and installation can converge to spark new conversations around the cyclical and generational traumas that affect our communities.

Through this practice, she also seeks to locate herself within the broader Black community. Her work aims to challenge ingrained systems and beliefs, within herself, the community, and in the broader world, inviting reflection and dialogue.

Currently based in Boston, MA.
