This in-progress work is an exploration of the tragic death of Walter Scott, an unarmed black man shot and killed in a fatal example of police brutality. The police officer was brought to justice because of a recorded cellphone footage detailing the abuse of force. Each square creates a stop-motion of the event that came into the cultural consciousness through the chemicals and light of the cyanotype process. As he falls, he still rises as he runs up the frame above the overwhelming blue presence.
